Word Portal — Terms & Conditions

1. Operator
Word Portal on NekkoFun is run by NekkoFun ("the Operator"). Contact: support@nekkofun.com.
2. A game of skill
Word Portal is a Pokémon-name spelling game. Players select the board letters, manage the timer and lives, and build valid names for points. Challenge scores are replayed and verified on the Operator's server using the same seeded letter sequence. The prize is based on the highest eligible Challenge score; it is not selected by a random draw.
3. Eligibility
Open to residents of New Zealand and Australia aged 16+ at the time of entry. Employees of the Operator and their immediate families are excluded.
4. How to play & pricing
Free Play is free and has its own leaderboard. Challenge Mode uses one game credit per attempt and has a separate Ranked leaderboard. The monthly subscription is US$1 per month and grants 20 Challenge games each month. Challenge games require an active subscription. Additional credits may be bought as one-off top-ups; earned and top-up credits are subject to the on-site offer and account terms. Subscription or credit purchases provide game attempts only; scores are earned through play.
Prices are subject to change. We may change the subscription price at any time. Where a change affects your existing subscription, we will give you at least 7 days' notice by email before it takes effect. You can cancel at any time before the change applies if you do not wish to continue at the new price; continuing your subscription after the notice period means you accept the new price.
5. Competition period & winner
The competition closing date will be announced on the Word Portal site. The prize goes to the player with the highest verified Challenge score during the competition period; ties are broken by who reached that score first. The winner is decided at close and contacted by email. Only eligible Ranked players with an active paid subscription can win. All Challenge scores are verified on the Operator's servers.
Claiming the prize. The winner is notified by email with claim instructions once the winner is determined. The winner must respond within 7 days of that email. If the winner does not respond within 7 days, the prize is treated as rejected by the winner, and the Operator may retain the prize or redistribute it by any method at its discretion.
6. Fair play & verification
Automated play, scripts/bots, or manipulation of scores are prohibited and will be disqualified. Statistically implausible scores are flagged for review. The Operator may require a prize winner to demonstrate their skill under supervision (e.g. a live/streamed play) before the prize is awarded.
7. Prize
One (1) × Pokémon 30th Anniversary Celebration Elite Trainer Box (the advertised prize). Not transferable or exchangeable for cash.
Prize guarantee. The Operator guarantees that the advertised prize will be shipped to the highest-scoring Ranked player once the competition closes and the winner is confirmed. In special circumstances — for example, if the winner cannot physically receive the prize — the Operator may instead provide an alternate prize of equal or greater value. See our Prize Guarantee.
8. Payments & refunds
Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details. Credits and subscriptions are digital goods. Except where required by law (including the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act and, where applicable, the Australian Consumer Law), payments are non-refundable. You can cancel your subscription at any time to stop future charges; cancelling does not refund the current period, and any remaining monthly games expire at the end of that period.
9. Privacy
Personal information is handled per our Privacy Policy, in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and, where applicable, the Australian Privacy Principles.
10. General
